Blast Furnace
With the capacity and lifespan of blast furnaces increasing, self-bonding SiC, high alumina and mullite bricks suitable for harsh high-temp and high-pressure conditions are used as the refractories for blast furnaces. Also, various slip casting castables and short-cast materials for blast furnaces, runner covers(통커버), main runners(대탕도) and iron runners (지탕도) have been developed and received well.

Finex
A smelting reduction process called Finex (Coal Ore Reduction) is the next-generation innovative steel making method engaging most attention and expected to significantly contribute to development of steel making industry. Chosun Refractories has successfully delivered the refractories to POSCO’s Finex built for the first time in the world, contributing to its stabilization.

Torpedo Ladle Car
Due to the increasing demands for high quality steel and increasing desulfurization, dephosphorization and desilication in torpedo ladle cars due to a range of pretreatments of hot metals, effective refractories need applying to prevent rapid local damages to lining materials. Thus, CR has developed a range of bricks suitable for hot metal pretreatment units and supplied refractories for diverse work conditions.

Charging Ladle
The charging ladle, aka the open ladle, refers to an open type ladle used to charge the converter in a torpedo ladle car. A secondary pretreatment of hot metals is performed to produce high quality steel, as necessary.
