As Korea’s first refractory technology research center launched in January 1981, CR’s R&D Center has kept abreast of constantly developing steel and iron manufacturing technology and grown up together with clients by developing long-lasting high-performance products meeting their needs. Also, the center has explored new refractories based on reseach on mass production of fine ceramic materials applied to refractories, and delved into eco-friendly recycling of refractories.

To lay the foundation for basic infra-technology, the center explores the methods of applying natural and synthetic materials, while drawing on computer simulation to boost the technical competitiveness of refractory design.

From now on, the R&D center is to apply nano technology to refractories, secure IT-based convergence design techniques, build integrated data management system, launch a smart research task force in charge of implementing emerging technology, and hire multi-disciplinary experts to lead the global refractory technology.
